These Terms & Conditions apply to all tours (public tours, private tours) and all visits (individual or in a group) to Grossmünster, Fraumünster, St. Peter, Predigerkirche and Wasserkirche.

Costs

Private tours

60 minutes: CHF 200 per group.
90 minutes: CHF 275 per group.

In German, we also offer public tours for CHF 20 or CHF 25 (CHF 10 or CHF 15 with student ID/«KulturLegi»).

Group visits

(from 5 to 30 persons in one group per time slot; with or without external guide)

Fraumünster:
CHF 4 per person
Grossmünster:
Church nave: free of charge.
Tower: CHF 4 per person.

Individual visits

Fraumünster:

• CHF 5, including the App «Altstadtkirchen Zürich» (download via Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS); on site possible via the free Wi-Fi) or a leaflet in 9 languages and the admission to the crypt museum.
• From 5 persons CHF 4 per person.
• Free admission for children and young people up to 16 years, with a student ID or with a «KulturLegi» as well as for anybody visiting the Fraumünster for peace, reflection and contemplation.

Grossmünster:

• Free admission to the church ship and  the crypt.
• App «Altstadtkirchen Zürich» (download via Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS); on site possible via the free Wi-Fi).
• Tower admission and/or bible collection: CHF 5 (CHF 2 for children and young people between 6 and 16 years, students).
• From 5 persons CHF 4 per person.
• Admission to the bible collection includes a free admission to the Tower and vice versa. Both tickets also serve as a CHF 5 discount for the collection at Kunsthaus Zürich.
• School classes pay CHF 1 per child and accompanying person.

Combined ticket Fraumünster & Grossmünster

Admission Karlsturm & information fee Fraumünster church with Chagall windows and crypt museum:
Adults: CHF 8 instead of CHF 10
Young people 6-16 years, students: CHF 2

The other churches can be visited for free (excluding the towers).

Outdoor tours: max. 24 participants
Church tours: max. 24 participants; Wasserkirche: max. 15 participants
Tower tours: max. 15 participants
Group visits: min. 5, max. 30 participants per time slot

All public tours are in general held in German. A few are held also in English.

While most private tours are held in German (see full catalogue), some are also held in English, or, upon request, in French.
Private tours in English

The free App «Altstadtkirchen Zürich» features a tour of the Grossmünster, a tour of the Fraumünster and a walking tour of the Old Town churches in three languages: German, English and Spanish. Download via Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS); on site possible via the free Wi-Fi.

External guides

If an external guide leads the group, the tour for groups of 11 or more must be conducted using the whispering technology (audio system) brought along by the guide with equipment for all participants so that the other visitors are not disturbed. A short brochure is included per person. Or you can use the free App «Altstadtkirchen Zürich» (download via Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS); on site possible via the free Wi-Fi), which features the Fraumünster tour, the Grossmünster tour and the Old Town Churches walk. The church tours can only be listened to with headphones (available to purchase from the church shop if required). All tours are also available as text for you to read.

At Fraumünster, only accredited guides can give groups a tour through the church. To gain accreditation, a guide must visit a half-day course organised by the Reformierte Kirche Zürich (church district one).

Delays / no-show

After we confirmed a request for a tour, the booked time is binding and the full costs apply, even if the participants arrive late or fail to appear. If a group is delayed, the guide must be informed by telephone. The private tour will not be prolonged by the delay.

Cancellation conditions

If the tour is cancelled by the customer less than 14 days before it is due to take place, the full cost will be charged. The same applies if the group fails to appear.

Postponement or cancellation by the church

If the church is occupied at short notice (e.g. due to a funeral), we reserve the right to cancel or postpone the tour at short notice. If the tour is cancelled by the Altstadtkirchen without replacement, then no costs are due.
