The Grossmünster
Starting Point of the Reformation
From its legendary beginnings around the city saints Felix and Regula and Charlemagne, the Grossmünster developed into an important monastery in the Middle Ages. The building contains elements in the Romanesque and neo-Gothic styles, which has to do with a fire. In the 16th century, the Grossmünster became the central site of the Zurich Reformation. Today it is home to stained glass windows by well-known artists.
