Chagall Windows in the Fraumünster
A Firework of Colours
The five expressive windows by Marc Chagall make the choir of the Fraumünster a magical place. They tell of man's path to God.
Frontally, you will see the blue Jacob window on the left, the yellow Zion window with the city of Jerusalem on the right, and in the middle, in green, the centrepiece - the Christ window. They are flanked on the left and right by the blood-red Prophet's Window and the blue Law Window. With binoculars you will see numerous details, even a self-portrait by Marc Chagall.
The second work by the artist in the Fraumünster is the blue window rosette, which depicts the story of creation in a clockwise direction.
